Welcome to the New and Improved MGAFC Website

Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

Over the past few weeks we have been developing a new website for the Club. The website is still Work in Progress with things like the History, Stats, Social, Members and Fixture sections still to updated. Please be patient as this will be completed over the next couple of weeks. Also if you spot any errors in the site please email Rochey at balfbalf@hotmail.com

The goal of this website is to develop a club database full of photos from past games and functions and any thoughts you have about the clubs present and past. So if you have any photos, journals, emails that you would like to have on the website we would love to see them. Rochey can receive up to 10MB of photos per email so please email all photos to him. If you have printed photos please call Mark Graydon on 0412563782. We can pick the photos up from you and deliver them back if you like. We have access to a scanner. We guarantee that these photos will be returned without damage.

This website will also be updated with articles from the Coaches, Willow and Social Committee. So please keep coming back to the site to see what is happening at the club.

Also, to be able to add comments to this website you will need to register.

Enjoy.

COFFEY AND ICE CREAM FOIL CONVENIENCE STORE ROBBERY

Sunday, January 22nd, 2006

Monash Gryphon and expert marksman Vaughan Coffey was the hero of the hour when, while at the 7-Eleven near the intersection of Grange Road and Glenhuntly Road last Sunday to purchase an ice cream for both he and his girlfriend, he turned the tables on an armed robber using only the aforementioned summer treat.

“Hey pal, this is a 2.80 Magnum, the most powerful ice cream in the world………now did I spend six dollars, or only five? Do you feel licky, punk? Well, do yah? Go ahead, make my dairy!” He reportedly told the miscreant as he attempted to plunder the convenience store of the day’s takings.

The store’s owner, Ravi Singh Gupta, was very grateful for Coffey’s act of heroism, and has promised him a lifetime supply of free ice cream in appreciation. Coffey did not wish to discuss the matter at this point in time, having earlier stated in a press conference that he did what he felt was right, and now wished to be left alone with his girlfriend, his God and his ice cream.

PRE SEASON 2006

Tuesday, January 10th, 2006

Monash Gryphons PreSeason 2006

Like all beginnings, 2006 offers much to get excited about.

A Grand Final appearance last season by our Reserves, impressive development by many of our younger players, and the recruitment and return of other talented footballers gives us cause to be confident about our 2006 campaign.

Of course our achievements this coming season hinge upon our effort, commitment and desire. Your coaches have mapped a varied, interesting and challenging PreSeason programme. I don’t believe in flogging players, however our sessions will be well organized, solid and, at times, intense. We will cross-train and spend time away from East Caulfield Reserve … and when we are at ECR, we will always have the footballs out.
A training calendar will be available from the first session at ECR, Monday 16/01 (and afterwards posted on the website).

Training will start at 6.15pm, sharp.

I look forward to seeing you, and anyone you invite down, at ECR, Monday 16/01 at 6.15pm.
